The Cooperative University of Kenya will be participating in its first ever open access week this year. The library will  join the Public Relations Department and the Ambassadors of Cooperative University of Kenya. The library intends to attract academic and research department to make it an exciting event. The Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) is in Party mode. We are in the final countdown for the launch of much awaited CUEA Learning Resource Centre (LRC) http://goo.gl/Ob4mr. This is an ultra modern facility and one of the best in the sub-Saharan Region.

As a warm up to the launch,  CUEA library is organizing a “knowledge Party” . We would like to take this auspicious occasion to expose faculty, administration, and student community to the open access (OA) resources and Institutional repositories. This will be the first OA advocacy campaign in the institution. The objective is to come up with an IR policy by the end of the year.

This is an activity that will be carried jointly by library staff and students. The library recently formed collaboration with student academic leaders who are the library “knowledge ambassadors” to promote library resources and services http://goo.gl/u4ril, http://goo.gl/SzC0D.
