Craft OA: EU-Projekt zur Förderung von Diamond Open Access (EU project to foster uptake of Diamond OA) | OPERAS-GER

engl. version via deepl.com

    OPERAS is a consortium partner of the EU project “Creating a Robust Accessible Federated Technology for Open Access”, short: CRAFT-OA, which started in January 2023. The project with a total of 23 partners in 14 European countries is funded by the European Commission for three years with 4.8 million euros. The project is led by the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen / Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen (SUB Göttingen).

    CRAFT-OA aims to strengthen and further develop institutional publishing in the Diamond Open Access model throughout Europe. The Diamond Open Access model means that researchers do not have to pay for the publication of scientific publications and readers do not have to pay for access to them. The special feature of CRAFT-OA is its focus on journal publishing. For this purpose, services and tools are to be developed that will enable local and regional platforms and service providers to expand their content, services and also platforms and thus achieve stronger networking with other information systems in science. For scientists in the institutional Diamond Open Access area, this means easier work.

The National Fund for Open Science (FNSO) launches its call for projects on open scientific and scholarly publishing

The call for projects is open until February 22, 2023. It benefits from a co-funding from the French National Research Agency on projects that fall under the diamond publishing model.

The call for projects is aimed at research infrastructures included in the national roadmap for research infrastructures, structures that publish scientific journals or books, support centers for publishing activities, and platforms for the dissemination of scientific publications.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR ACCESSING NI4OS-EUROPE SERVICES – NI4OS- Europe

ia this call, NI4OS-Europe opens possibilities for scientists to access the advanced services on-boarded to EOSC (thematic, generic and repositories). The services provided have been tested in the use-cases ran by scientific teams that were assigned to this task. The services were then fine-tuned according to the feedback received from the demonstrators and now can be further tested via the open call. The list of services and resources offered by the NI4OS-Europe project can be found at: https://catalogue.ni4os.eu/?_=/resources. Access to underlying computational resources (generic) can be awarded for a maximum period of 6 months, while access to underlying storage resources may be provided for up to 8 months. The call enables researchers from Europe to obtain access to the advanced services, which have been on-boarded on the European Open Science Cloud with the support of NI4OS-Europe. Throughout the open call, all research teams participating in the call are expected to harmonize the management of their data according to the FAIR principles hroughout the whole lifetime of their work, thus, engaging with the rules of Open Science.

New European collaboration for open science training

Umeå University is one of four Swedish organisations involved in the new European collaboration Skills4EOSC. The collaboration is a large-scale project to expand and coordinate open science education in Europe. A majority of EU countries participate in the collaboration, which is led by the Italian consortium GARR. Sweden is represented by Umeå University, Chalmers, Karolinska Institutet and the Swedish National Data Service (SND). SND will also lead one of the six different working groups, or “work packages”, involved in the project.

Open science: la conoscenza come bene comune – Padovanews

The Theological Faculty of Triveneto has designed the Open science project “Knowledge as a common good”, which will be realized in the between 2021 and 2023 thanks to the contribution of 150,000 EUR allocated by the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova and Rovigo Foundation.

The project is divided into three sections:
1. Open Data: the Theological Faculty of the Triveneto and its Archives;
2. Open Access: dissemination and exchange of the journal published by the faculty, Studia patavina;
3. Open Education Resources: the Faculty’s library: new services
