University of Tennessee joins OLH LPS Model

“We are pleased to announce that the University of Tennessee, Knoxville has joined the Open Library of Humanities’ (OLH) Library Partnership Subsidy system. The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is the flagship land-grant university of the state of Tennessee. Founded as Blount College in 1794, two years before Tennessee became a state, UT Knoxville has grown into the state’s premier public research institution, holding the Carnegie Foundation’s highest designation, granted to doctoral universities with very high research activity. Today the university offers more than 900 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes of studies to its more than 33,000 enrolled students. …”

University of Tennessee, Knoxville becomes Opening the Future member at both Liverpool University Press and CEU Press | March 29, 2023

“Liverpool University Press (LUP) and CEU Press are pleased to announce that the library at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville is a new member of the Opening the Future (OtF) programmes at both publishers.  The library has chosen to sign up to: At CEU Press: the Library Selection Package, which contains 50 eBooks …At LUP: the Modern Languages Package which contains 37 eBooks … The library will retain access to all of these books with both presses in perpetuity after three years of membership.  The library’s membership fee allows both presses to make new books open in ways that do not burden authors that don’t have research grants to pay BPCs. LUP and CEU Press use OtF membership funds to publish only new frontlist OA titles and have between them already published 13 titles all fully funded by the programme. Further books are in the production pipeline at both presses and will be released as further OtF funding accrues….”
