Well over 100 CERN staff attended friday’s meeting to discuss how the future publishing of CERN’s scientific papers could contribute to a change of the publishing model. They heard a number of invited presentations to introduce the ideas behind open access and participated in the following debate. All the presentations and the videostream are available.

CERN workshop on Innovations in Scholarly Communication (OAI4) – 20–22 October 2005
LIBER, CERN, SPARC and SPARC Europe, OSI, and the OAi are pleased to announce the dates and agenda for the 4th OAi workshop. This will be the latest installment in this highly successful series that began in 2001. The workshop is a forum that is more for activists rather than theorists or administrators. It brings together people who are at the forefront of scholarly communication change. The workshop is intended as a forum for technological issues associated with scholarly communication and will take place every second year in alternation with the Nordic Conference on Scholarly Communication . The workshop is sponsored by OSI, SPARC and SPARC Europe, JISC, SHERPA and Ex Libris.
