On September 17, 2014, a public debate for staff and students on Open Access took place, which attracted around 40 persons, for the most part researchers of all ages. It was organized by the Faculty Board of Humanities and the Centre for Humanities, in collaboration with Utrecht University Library.
Main conclusions were
– The need for Open Access is felt.
– The debate was held in a constructive atmosphere, without ignoring, however, the bottlenecks which researchers mostly associate with Gold OA.The debate proved to be very lively and fruitful. Other faculties in Utrecht University have plans to organize similar events.
